The best bad food

We always flip through newspapers, magazines to look for the best diet plan which promises us sure shot weightloss guarantee.
If unsatisfied, we visit  a dietitian, ask friends and even take suggestions from relatives and neighbours. However, this is easier said than done.
We tend to begin the plan on an enthusiastic note but food cravings often end up destrying the entire effort.
Anant Gupta, CEO, endzone.co.in (a fitness and consultancy firm) tells us how can we make minor changes to our diet plans without compromising on our taste.

Hectic work schedule, disorganized sleeping patterns and modern lifestyle make following a diet plan an extremely tough task.We are always bound by deadlines forcing food to take a back seat. As a result people end up munching on whatever is available. However, even in these situations you can make an informed choice and choose the best from the worst, i.e. ‘the best bad food’.
The best amongst the worst is chosen only when you don’t have any other option. Generally, employees and students fall into this category as the options in hand (canteens, cafes) rarely have healthy food options.
 • It’s always better to have a sandwich rather than having a burger, prefer eating Chicken nuggets rather than having other chicken tenders.
 • In summers people love eating ice creams and deserts. The choice must be natural vanilla and the top creamy layer of the pastry must be eliminated.
 • Avoid the intake of Cold drinks. Instead taking lemonade or butter milk is a better option.
 • Maggi is never considered to be healthy but if you want to have it, have boiled Atta noodles instead.
 • Try taking fruits or salad or if available you can have Marie gold lite and nutria digestive biscuits, baked namkeens or chew sprouts. In packed foods, Channa is a better option than going for any other namkeen such as bhujia.
 • As far as Indian sweet dishes go, have rosogulla but only after squeezing the sweet liquid out of it.
To stay in good physical shape and on top form you need to keep these things in mind. It is for your own benefit.
At the end of the day, you cannot be forced by someone to eat healthy. It is you who have to take a step towards being healthy.
